Savour the Flavour of Texas - LCBO Promotion July 23-25, 2009
The LCBO partnered with Texas Tourism, Dallas CVB, Fort Worth CVB, Austin CVB and Fort Worth CVB to promote the state as an exciting destination for distinctive culinary, wine and travel experiences. The promotion was based around bringing a chef from Texas to host several events this summer at a high traffic LCBO location in Toronto. Chef Vance Ely (Central Market) was chosen as his personality, talent and enthusiasm made him ideal to lead interactive culinary events.
Luncheon Event
Local media and Tour Operators were invited for an informal Texas summer barbecue luncheon on-site at the LCBO Summerhill. Our Texas chef would assist the caterer in preparing an authentic Texas barbecue meal which would be served to our guests.
Contest
A contest was organized to promote “Win A Taste of Texas Evening At the LCBO Summerhill”, where 1 lucky winner won a private cooking class/demonstration with our Texas chef for 10 people (contest winner and nine friends). Our Texas chef cooked a creative Southwestern three course menu which was served to the ten guests on-site at a downtown LCBO location.
